The Elections Division of my office has prepared this 2000 California Election Calendar as a guide for all election officials, public officials, candidates, and members of the news media. The calendar provides important dates, deadlines and timelines for the March 7, 2000 Primary Election and the November 7, 2000 General Election.

For your convenience we have also established the toll free 1-800-345-VOTE phone number which can be used to request voter registration cards, obtain voting information or report any election-related misconduct.

California's elections require a great deal of work, advance preparation and expertise from a number of persons at both the county and state levels. We are fortunate in the Golden State to have such high caliber officials who are dedicated to conducting honest, efficient, accessible and successful statewide elections. They are deserving of the utmost appreciation and continued support for the work they do to support the democratic process.
